Dr Apana is a visiting anaesthetist  at Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Kareena Private Hospital.

Dr Apana trained as a registrar at Concord Repatriation General Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He completed a fellowship in paediatric anaesthesia and neuroanaesthesia at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick.

Dr Apana currently practises adult and paediatric neuroanaesthesia for brain and spine surgery, ENT and Orthopaedic anaesthesia. He has an interest in peripheral regional anaesthesia including nerve blocks of the neck, upper and lower limbs. He has been associated with the Centre for 15 years.
