Peter joined us from the University of California, San Diego. He expressed an interest in both paediatric and brain tumour surgery making the fellowship ideal for his advanced training. As the CMIN’s first fellow he was chosen from over 16 extremely competitive applicants from 14 different countries. Peter did not disappoint us.
He probably taught us as much about neurosurgery and general philosophy as we taught him about minimally invasive techniques. He was extremely popular with the patients, relatives, medical and paramedical staff given his contagious enthusiasm, great bedside manner and wealth of knowledge.
He was a superlative teacher and a prolific writer. Since departing our shores he has been accepted as the next skull base and vascular fellow at the prestigious Barrow Neurological Institute, once again picked from many excellent and worthy candidates from all over the world.
