Marc was invited to join the Centre in 2005. He had distinguished himself in 2004 as the Fellow in Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery. Marc completed his neurosurgical training in Capetown, South Africa, gaining extensive experience in spine, paediatric and trauma surgery.
He then enhanced his experience at the CMIN by performing many difficult brain tumour procedures. In 2005 and 2006 he then travelled to the USA to familiarise himself with complex spine surgery and is now one of the most rounded and comprehensively trained neurosurgeons in Australia.
Marc has brought to the Centre many new facets of surgery, such as epilepsy surgery, surgery for spasticity and complex spine surgery in adults and children. In recognition of his strong interest in paediatric neurosurgery, he was appointed to the Sydney Children’s Hospital as a Visiting Medical Officer in 2006. He continues to offer his patients excellence in surgical technique and compassionate care, in keeping with the principles of the Centre.
